CITIZEN JAKE TO OPEN ON MAY 23, 2018 IN CINEMAS NATIONWIDE

The much anticipated Mike de Leon film "Citizen Jake" will hit the theaters on May 23, 2018.  The film premiered in March at Cine Adarna in UP campus and had sporadic screenings at UP Campuses.

Atom Araulo plays the title role of Jake, a young journalist who's a scion of a powerful political figure. The movie depicts Jake's personal saga and his struggles within his own social class amidst the political scenario in the country.  The movie also stars Nonie Buencamino, Luis Alandy, Gabby Eigenmann Teroy Guzman, Max Collins, Tony Fabian and veteran actresses Cherry Gil and Dina Bonnevie.

One wonders why it took the famous film director 17 years to make a comeback film.  Mike de Leon is the director of acclaimed movies such as "Sister Stella L," "Kisapmata," "Itim," "Batch '81" and "Kung Mangarap Ka't Magising."
